(Unfortunately while cutting and pasting, the whole march agenda was erased. I hope this is not an inconvenience to anyone. )
Monday 3/31/14
Math- We added, subtracted, multiplied and divided fractions today. Math box 7-10 is due tomorrow. We had our first work session offering for the re-taking of the unit 6 test. This was available to the AM class only this time (there is a PM class offering on a different day) and I had only one student take me up on the offer.
Science- We did a following directions activity. It was out of 10 points and all were based on following the directions. It may sound easy but in 5th grade this can be very difficult.
Friday 3/28/14 Due to the importance of being able to add and subtract fractions before entering 6th grade, I am offering some self-help options that will end with an opportunity to re-take the unit 6 test. We will continue to practice and cover adding and subtracting fractions in class; however these will be more focused sessions that will be held with all students want to know how to do this.More information and the dates and times of sessions is available for download under... more....math help.....study session.
Math- We worked on multiplying fractions today. Math box 7-9 was graded. Math box 7-10 is due on Tuesday.
Science- In space, the distance and size of objects can blend and give us an illusion of large things being small and small things being large. We saw pictures of how that can happen and then spent time in class today making our own pictures showing size illusions.
